Hi all,
I am trying to come up with a search strategy for general clean-up purposes that would identify all of our bib records with a 245 that doesn't end with a period. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find these? Obviously create lists has an 'ends with' command by not a 'doesn't end with'. Any brilliant ideas out there as to how to find these? Thanks for your collective wisdom!

It's messy given the existence of titles with just a subfield a followed by a GMD and other oddballs, but this gets you close:

BIBLIOGRAPHIC MARC Tag 245 matches "[^\.\?\!\"]"?$"

The MARC tag 245 matches [^.]$ worked the best for me! Thank you for your help!

Thanks, tried this and found almost 1500 bibs with no period. :-)

If David's example does not work as you want, you could try a variant of his approach that seems to work in Sierra:

BIBLIOGRAPHIC MARC Tag 245 matches [^]]$ AND BIBLIOGRAPHIC MARC Tag 245 matches [^.?!"]$

Sincerely,

Bethany
