We are looking at updating our Research Databases list that is based on our ERM records. Have any of you created a research databases page that you want to show off?
We have not done a refresh of our catalog in many years. We are finally in the process of doing that. One of the first areas we would like to look at is the look and functionality of our Research Databases page:
We offer a search box for free text type searching, an option to search by the first initial of the database name, and an option to limit by subject. One of the biggest complaints is that we have many databases that aren’t really appropriate for undergraduates to use, because they are so specialized. So our typical users are getting options for databases that they really can’t use, and may even be impeding their search for resources.
So all that is to say, we want to make it work better. Do any of you have examples from your library that I could look at? Or just ideas that might help?
