Hi -

We want to run some stats on fine history, but I'm having difficulty finding this data in the SQL database. The fines table contains current unpaid patron fines and fines_paid contains globally purged fines. I can't seem to find the fine history that is available in Sierra in the patron record.

Thanks,
Roxanna Foster

Hi!

Maybe you have a different setup than ours, but our fine table definitely shows fines history as well as current fines - I just did a query for just 100 and saw fines that had been paid in 2001, 2009, 2011, 2015...

What fines history are you referring to in the patron record?

I’m seeing fines dated from other years too, but they appear to be current fines only.

I queried the fines for my account which is currently $0 and there were no results. Then, I did a search for users that currently have fines and the only ones
that returned were currently active fines.

Thanks,

Roxanna

Sorry … forgot to answer this question.

The fines history in Sierra is in the patron record > fines > fines paid.

Thanks,

Roxanna

Got it - I was looking through Catalog, not the Circ Desk module. Thanks for the clarification!

Ah, I see what you're saying (and I'm seeing the same thing) - it'll return fines paid, but ONLY for those records that currently owe money. How strange! That is not expected behavior...

I found some documentation on fines paid. It’s currently in a legacy data store and not available in the SQL database.
