We are on Millennium and thinking of enabling online self-booking for select media equipment. I saw a really cool equipment bookings implementation in LibCal, by UC San Francisco. I did contact them and received more info., but so far it seems like this solution would be a lot of work, but more importantly, it is not integrated with the ILS, as far as I know.

I'd like to ask whether anything comparable is possible in Sierra. It seems conceivable that with patron API's, one could sync LibCal bookings with the ILS, but what about photos?

We love the idea of including photos with our equipment items. I seem to recall a way of inserting HTML into an 856 to accomplish this, but there must be a better way. Media Management? Does Sierra offer any better solutions?

What have you done?

We use a 970 field to include a photo of our toys and games. For example:
970 |t

The filename is the barcode of the item and the images are stored on our webserver. Here is what it looks like to the public:
http://roc.rodmanlibrary.com/record=b1413014

It helps staff when tracking down missing items and helps the patron know what the item looks like

Thanks Karen,
We don't have "Table of Contents Display and Indexing," so I don't think that would work, but correct me if I'm wrong. I think I gave it a try long ago. I might just try it again.
Thank you!

We don't have the Table of Contents Display and Indexing either. I saw this posted to the list year's ago and thought I'd try it. It just seems to work.
Good luck!
