Good morning,
We are implementing Sierra next summer, and the question has been raised as to whether there are recommendations for compatible bar code scanners.  We are looking at Datalogic Quickscan 2D bar code scanners as replacement for our old scanners.  Comments/experiences with these or other scanners welcome.
Thanks for considering,
Tammera

Hi Tammera,

We use several types of barcode readers, two of which read the barcodes on a phone (2D):

Motorola LI2208
DataLogic Quickscan

We just started using the DataLogic, as BayScan set up so that we can scan a state ID and pre-populate some of the variable fields in the patron record (record creation). Regardless of that feature, the staff strongly prefer the DataLogic, say it's much quicker and easier to use. The Motorola one, they complain they have to move the item w/barcode around to get it "just right," etc.
