I've taken on a new task at my library, which includes paying invoices in acquisitions. It seems like there should be a way to post information as it comes in, but have it go toward the next fiscal year. Is this a thing?

For example, I am taking care of a lot of database renewals for the 17-18 FY and would like to put in the information as the invoices come in. However, as I've learned it, I have to wait until after the fiscal close. Is there no way around this?

Thanks,

Heidi,
I know there is a way to run two fiscal years at the same time, but we have chosen not to do that since it would mean doubling the number of fund codes we use. Instead, when we need to pay something in the next FY, we make a copy of the invoice, send the original to our business office (who is able to pay in the next FY in their system) and enter the data for the invoice after July 1, the start of our new fiscal year. It isn't a great solution, but it keeps our library payments in sync with our business office.
