The topic is:
Customizing Polaris Notification Emails
Thursday, June 13, 1 to 5 p.m.
Presenter: Paul Keith, Chicago Public Library
In this preconference session, we'll focus on using Report Builder or Visual Studio to make basic customizations to Polaris email notifications. We'll cover:
- Removing unwanted text such as to/from addresses or dates
- Different options for customizing text based on the reporting organization or pickup location; for example:
- Adding a note about an upcoming branch closure only to notices going to patrons registered at that branch
Adding a link to the pickup location's address and hours on the library's website
[*]Accommodating multiple languages when customizing text
We'll also quickly look at some more advanced options, such as adding upcoming events or similar titles. We'll wrap up by discussing options for testing customizations and some of the cons of customizing your email messages.
Participants should have some experience with editing reports in Report Builder or Visual Studio. For a hands-on experience, participants should bring a laptop with one of these programs installed.
All Polaris libraries are welcome to send attendees -
