Hello everyone,

I'm happy to report that this weekend's Idea Lab upgrade proceeded smoothly and I wanted to take a moment to highlight a few of the key changes to the site.

First of all, voting has changed such that down votes have been removed. You can see the new all in one voting icon in the image below. Additionally next to the voting button you can see a drop down menu that lists the supporters of an idea in order to make it easier to find users who are interested in different parts of the system. Similar lists can be found for those who have viewed an idea, and those who have liked a comment.

Next the idea browse screen has been updated in a few ways. A new compact browse view is now available in addition to the standard view. You can toggle between the two by selecting the icons in the upper right corner of the idea list. The quick view has been updated to encourage more users to comment on ideas. The bug where the user profile screen that will pop up if you hover over a user's name would become stuck has also been fixed with this release.

Finally, a global site search feature has been introduced to allow you to search the contents of ideas, users, comments and challenges across the entire Idea Lab site. Conduct a search as you normally would from the search box next to your user profile, and then use the drop down menu in the results screen to refine your search results further.

There are many less dramatic changes as well, tags will now autocomplete, pairwise has been adjusted to further remove opportunities for biasing votes (expect to see those changes in next month's Create list challenge, more on that soon) and the challenge update e-mails now provide greater configuration options (so don't be surprised to start seeing those in your inbox).

If you have any questions/comments about any of these changes please let us know.
