[IUG] Research Questions About Express Lane
[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
We are considering launching two to three Express Lane stations at our
library and are in the beginning stages of research-- pros/cons, cost,
others experiences, etc. Any thoughts on these subjects would be
appreciated. Also, we are specifically interested in answers to the
following questions:
a. Has anyone used Express Lane with a Mac-Mini or other type of
Apple computer? Any issues?
b. Is there one barcode scanner that has worked better than
others-brand, model?
c. Have you had any difficulties reading older barcodes?
d. How has the e-commerce function been successful/popular?
e. Is there a credit card swiper that works particularly
well-brand, model?
f. Is anyone using Express Lane with a touch screen only-no
keyboard? and how is it working out?
g. Is there a touch screen that works particularly well-brand,
model?
h. What is your library's % of checkouts occurring at self-check?
i. Did you experience a large increase in self-check outs after
adding Express Lane?
j. Did you promote/publicize the launch of the self-check
machines? How so?
k. Do you have any suggestions for patron education?
Thank you in advance for your feedback!
