I've stumbled upon yet another undocumented change in Rel. 2007 that
might address David's original concern. The BRIEF= wwwoption now
accepts additional values, including the U value (indexed title) that
the manual describes under the EXTENDED= WWWOption. (code page #106872).
I found this because the default setting in the 2007 example set
WWWoptions file is BRIEF=UR.
Enabling BRIEF=U has the consequence that an author search will show the
indexed title (say a chapter title), unlinked, next to the indexed term
on the first line of the index browse. If you switch to extended
browse, you get the book title, linked, on the below.
In our catalog, search for author = smith.
http://columbo.law.cua.edu/search/a?SEARCH=smith Then click on
"extended display" to see the whole thing.
This setting has the same effect in other phrase indexes besides title.
In a subject index, this means that if only one book matches the
heading, the title will display next to the index heading. Of course,
limiting or choosing a non-system sort sends you into a record browse,
which uses the briefcit display.
So is this tres cool or hopelessly confusing? I'm really not sure.

Dang. I was hoping that the magic "T" was going to work regardless of
which phrase index you searched, negating the need for the extra lines
for the 245 in the briefcit.html file...
Thanks for the clarification!
