Re: [IUG] Using 2006 Example Set with Rel 2007

Kristi-
We are actually using a combination of 2006 and 2007. We upgraded to 07, and are using the example set for most things, except the main search screens and other modified pages (we like how the tabs work for some things, but not for others).

However- we had an awful time going from staging to live. There's a new button in miladmin to transfer the staging screens to live screens, and Millennium froze in the middle. The telnet version apparently does not work anymore, probably since the inclusion of this lovely button, so that didn't work either. We ended up transferring all the files to a desktop, using the "put files" button and then "get files" for transferring them back to live. The worst was the wwwoptions. In 2006, we copied and then pasted the wwwoptions in telnet. This time, that does not work. We had extra text show up between wwwoptions- it was a disaster. After much research through the IUG list, I was finally able to configure Filezilla to work and was able to transfer the wwwoptions files from staging to live. After calling the helpdesk, I was told that using 3rd party software is the *only* way to transfer the wwwoptions file from staging to live. This seems ridiculous to me. Not to rant, but this is a warning, I guess. Oh- and Filezilla would only work once I changed the settings from "passive" to "active".

As for "My Lists," the helpdesk acknowledges that the "add to bookbag" button will not work with My Lists.

Good luck!

Kristi,

We will be doing this. I can view my lists from my record and the recovering PINS button works on my staging port

http://library.bury.gov.uk:2082

However I have not had time to include the add to my lists feature on the bib records yet (and I need to mess with my css before it goes live).

Hello all.

I wanted to know if any libraries have implemented Rel 2007 but kept the
2006 tabbed interface on the OPAC? Are all the enhancements and
features (especially My Lists and recovering PINs) working properly with
it? Feel free to respond off list.

Thank you,

Kristi
