I export whatever order record info we think we might want (title, fund

from the system. That then allows me to delete those suppressed bibs
from the system.

David,
How to you archive order records? Our acquisition wants to keep the
order records in the system for 2 years plus the current. We have to
suppress so many bib records that has only order records left. I am
looking for any possible ways that can let us get rid of those
suppressed bibs.

For multipart sets, I attach the order record to the bib of part 1. If
there is no distinguishable part 1, I just pick one of the bibs to host
the order record. I archive and delete order records towards the end of
the fiscal year...we keep the current and past years' order records in
the system. So if the last item on such a bib is deleted, the bib is
suppressed and the order record kept until the time comes to archive.
You can put something in the item records about which order record is
involved, but we've never had a situation where we needed to worry about
that.

We've just started using the Acquisitions module and this question has
come up.

Which bib record do you choose to attach the order record on boxed sets
of DVDs where the set is split up into individual bib records? For
example, we purchased the Jayne Mansfield box set of DVDs that has three
different movie titles so we have three different bib records. We
thought about adding a note to the item records referencing the order
record number on bib records without the order record, but what happens
when the bib record with the order record is weeded and the order record
is deleted? Does the information in the order record even matter after
a certain period of time?
