We have one collection that we call recreational reading. We get gifts
and also purchase titles for this collection, and it is fully cataloged.

We have also tried a paperback exchange without much success. We set
out the titles in designated book nooks around campus and people could
take what they wanted and could leave titles as well. These titles
weren't cataloged, but we did refresh them every couple weeks. It
didn't catch on here but perhaps it would work with your readers.

We use the term "Browsing Collection".

[IUG] "Uncataloged" paperbacks (alternative term question)

We receive, on a fairly regular basis, donations of mass market
paperbacks
which are minimally processed and for which we create brief bib records
(author and title only) to which we attach, of course, item records. We

refer to this collection of titles as the "uncataloged paperbacks," but
they are not really uncataloged are they if they appear in the opac?
So,
I am wondering if those of you out there who have a similar collection
would be able to suggest a better term than "uncataloged paperbacks?"
Any
suggestions are welcome--

Lindsey Martin
