- Subject: [IUG] Managing a Web Services Department
We are working on an organizational investigation and would love to have
input from anyone out there who has an interest in such things.
This is how we are set up:
I am the web services manager and I report to the Associate Director of
ITS
My department of 2.5 folks manage the OPAC, the intranet and the
internet as well as provide technical support to our learning 2.0
initiative. Folks are supposed to send us what they want up on the web
page- and we post it. In a nut shell that is it. So we would like to
know-
How many folks do you have in your web department- and what are their
job titles?
Does each department have a web coordinator and then they turn their
content into web services and then the web services team posts it?
How do you work with the rest of the organization on contributing to the
web site- do you have specific workflow with that in regard to process
technology and content?
Thank you for any help you can give us.
Thanks again,
Lisa Hill
