This is interesting.  Using JRE 1.4.1_02 does not give me this trouble -
and I access MilAdmin every day. Guess this is a good reason for not
upgrading my JRE.

We are having the very same issue.  It is intermittent and only happens
with administration.  It happens both from new Millennium Admin sessions
as well as opening from the control bar.  Thank you for the tip on
pasting the password from notepad.  After opening new Millennium session
several times in a row without being able to log in, I have often just
decided to work on something else.  I will try this workaround next
time.

Our Millennium Admin login process is behaving in a strange manner.
 
When you login into any Millennium administration session using the
Millennium client -- the "Enter initials and password" dialog box is not
accepting keyboard keystrokes - you type in user id data and password
but nothing appears on the screen in the dialog box - this makes it
difficult to log in and have your permissions assigned.
 
 I am using the latest Millennium client with jre v 1.5.0.12 - just
downloaded from CS direct (although it was also behaving like this with
the previous version - jre v 1.5.0.06) 
 
This behaviour is intermittent - some times you can log in without any
problems.
 
I discovered that you can "fix" this by writing your initials and
password to a file in say windows notepad and then doing a cut and paste
into the fields of the dialog box but i don't think this is a workable
solution for our users.
 
Only appears to affect millennium administration although some of our
staff have experienced a seemingly related problem in mil circ where by
again no keystrokes are being recorded when they try to create or edit
patron records. Again this behaviour is intermittent.
 
The only cure is to either close the exisiting millennium session and
set up a new one (not a real goer when its busy) or in extreme cases
Windows has to be shutdown and restarted or the PC rebooted.
 
We are running windows XP and are on software release 2006 v 1.3
 
Has anyone else come across this problem - if yes, any solutions would
be most appreciated
