I too am just configuring the Millenium (Silver) WAM for our library. We want patron verification so I have Verify set to "Y". Worked like a charm on my computer and exactly the way I wanted; it (at work and at home), but, my celebration jig was cut short when 2 of 10 staff PCs brought up the message: Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage.
Then, after logging other databases in the Forward table and rewriting the links, I came up with the error:
This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.
------
Initial Setup:
1. Worked with DNS manager at IT to change entry to wildcard.
2. Added PROXYDNS Web OPAC option to WWWOPTIONS file with the correct format.
3. Added entry to Forward table for EBSCO as my first attempt:
a. Token: ebsco
b. IPAddress/hostname: search.ebscohost.com
c. Port: 80
d. Service Level:0
e. Verify:Y
f. Valid Patron Types: 000-002,005
g. Valid Patron Home Libs:
h. Database Identifier:
i. Database Name: afh
j. Logging Type: yes
4. Rewrote the link:
http://0-search.ebscohost.com.alex.bridgewater.edu/login.aspx?authtype=ip,uid&profile=ehost&defaultdb=afh
Secondary setups:
Then, after putting more entries into the Forward table to test other databases, after rewriting the links, e.g.,
http://0-find.galegroup.com.alex.bridgewater.edu/
http://0-www.JSTOR.org.alex.bridgewater.edu/
brings up :
This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.
I've tried changing the beginning of the hostname in the Forward table with the wildcard "*", but with no effect.
Any thoughts or insights from the group's experience on WAM? What's a good next move?
