Hi,
All -- if I may, a question about Spellcheck.
I have a call open with III about adding words to the
spellcheck dictionary: does anyone know if this is possible?
The WebPAC spellchecker seems to use Wintertree's Sentry
Spelling Checker Engine, and I know that includes a method
of adding and removing words to and from a user
dictionary... but there seems to be no documentation on the
matter in the III manual.
If you have Spellcheck installed, this file looks fairly
likely: /iiidb/software/tpp/ssce/runtime/lex/userdic.tlx
But I don't see what I am supposed to do to make the III
system re-read the user dictionary between edits (I don't
mind too much if I have to edit this file manually for each
new word).
Anyone know for sure either way? Astonishingly, III have
not been able to answer me "yes" or "no" despite repeated
prodding since February. I want to roll out spellcheck
RIGHT NOW but I'd also like to be able to tell staff if it
is possible to add words to the dictionary or not, if I say
nothing they'll assume it is possible and deluge me with
requests.
Cheers,
Andrew Preater
