RE: WebOPAC--Logging In--Remembering the Barcode

Perhaps the NO_REVERIFY option for MyMillennium is what you are looking
for. The Manual explains this option at page # 102171. Basically, once
a patron log into MyMillennium he/she is verified for that session.
Depending on which functions you list in the NO_REVERIFY option (WAM or
Requests, for example), the patron will not be re-prompted for
authentication information.

I think what you would need to do is setup a custom my millennium
login form so that the barcode field is type text and not type
password. Then mozilla/firefox/IE would see that it is supposed to be a

login form and store the info. I think we will be making this change
soon as we get quite a bit of feedback from patrons who hate having to
type in a 14 digit barcode every time they make a request. The public
machines at the library do not save form info so that won't be a
problem.
I need to try and understand how the millennium opac handles
sessions a little bit better. I though it uses cookies for
authentication, but if you just go to http://youropac/patroninfo it will

log you out and make you type in everything again. Shouldn't it only
do that when it gets a logout request or the time runs out... but I am
getting off topic.
I'll look into this some more and share whatever I find. Josh
