One of our librarians, who is very talented with graphics, designed some
icons for our catalog that we are very happy with. You can see them at
http://catalog.tempe.gov. There's a pretty good assortment to look at if
you do a keyword search for "shady".

Subject: ICONS! oh where are all the good ICONS for Media?

We have turned on the Media option in the wwwoption file and are currently
using just the word. I was surfing the list of III users catalogs to see
what others are doing (a very time consuming process I might add!) and I
find that:
1) most folks don't have it turned on.
2) those that do mostly have the words turned on.
3) those that do have images use the innopac ones (OK but boring - sorry but
they are)
4) the most interesting ICONS I saw used were at St Olaf's library system
(very cool folks!). They have a word pic with an image.

So I was looking for some good icons our "medium" column and darn there are
not many good ones out there for magazines/serials/periodicals. I have
surfed and surfed...can anyone recommend a good icon site that has library
media types (books, serials, magazines, maps, electronic resources, scores,
dvd, cdrom, etx) so I can add them to my collection?

I have begun a collection of them on a web page ... at:
