The HALAN consortium usually has 25K-50K records to process each day. We
usually start around 5 or 6PM and under normal circumstances experience no
problems finishing by the time our member libraries open the next morning.

If there are a larger number of records to process, say over 100K, we may
start earlier, or the routine may not finish overnight. In that case, we
may let it continue awhile longer, or stop the process and resume it again
late in the afternoon.

Subject: Daily Link Maintenance

We came up on Millennium a few weeks ago. On a daily basis we have about 65K
records to process in Daily Link Maintenance. This question is mainly for
other large sites with a high volume of records for Daily Link Maintenance:
when do you schedule this? Running it during circulation doesn't seem to be
a viable option due to the contentioning for records. It slows to a crawl.
Any suggestions or guidance?
