- Subject: Charging for Holds
Our City government has decided that we will charge for items to be placed
on hold.
Is anybody charging patrons to put items on hold? I found where we can
charge a fee if the patron puts the hold on thru the web. It is my
understanding that if the hold is placed thru Millennium by staff, there is
no charge. A manual charge would have to be added to the patron's record.
Seems kind of backwards.
Also if we turn this feature on, does it ignore the holds already in place
or does it charge for them too?
I would really like some feedback if your library charges for holds. Patron
reaction, what you do if the library cancels the hold, etc.
All information welcomed! Thanks.
