Hello, all, again!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the patron who was having problems implementing proxy browsing using CompuServe 2000 version 5  brought her laptop into the library today.   I loaded Netscape 4.7, set up the configuration and set our library homepage as the browser homepage.  

I instructed her to open her connection to the Internet using CompuServe, then minimize it.   Then, she was to open Netscape and try to connect to our databases from home.  When she returned home, she was successful in this endeavor.   

I'll be updating our Proxy Browser instructions to include this information for our CompuServe patrons.   I sure hope the message I saw here earlier about a software update from III that will eliminate this process is enacted soon.
