Re: E reserves and Self Check

We have not implemented self check yet so I cannot comment on it
but I can give you a brief comment about electronic reserves.

Most electronic reserves problems reported appear to be related to
scanning and printing. When the module was first developed it was
sold as a complete electronic reserves package. Now it is possible
to buy an inexpensive scanner to produce PDF files and import them
into electronic reserves. Printing to a system printer does not
make much sense for libraries considering electronic reserves to
help distance education students.

We have used electronic reserves for about 20 months but don't use
it for scanning or printing and have not experienced any problems.
