In case you haven't heard, never got the first announcement, or just
plum forgot, I would like to remind everyone about the Be Innovative!

=============
Don't forget! November 30, 2001 is the deadline for
entries for the Be Innovative! Awards, to be given at
the Tenth Annual IUG, April 27-30, 2002 in Houston.
We're amazed at the innovative ways in which our
library partners use Innovative systems--and every
library has an innovation to share! We'd like to
recognize these innovations in the following
categories:
Most Innovative Web OPAC: degree of customization,
overall layout, use of links, graphics, and color.
Most Innovative Local Database: integration with
imaging, interesting or unusual database, look and
feel, and layout.
Most Innovative Staff Instruction Process or Training
Program: integration with user manuals, originality
of delivery methods, accompanying presentation
materials.
Most Innovative Use of Staff Modules: level of integration,
application of management information, special projects
applications, facilitation of efficient workflow processes.
All Innovative libraries (save for those represented by the
judges) are eligible to enter in any or all of the categories.
Simply submit an essay of 500 words or less, along with
any supporting screenshots, graphics, or URLs to:
Award
Innovative Interfaces, Inc.
5850 Shellmound Way
Emeryville, CA 94608
Entries may also be submitted electronically to:
award@xxxxxxxxxx
Entries should demonstrate how the Innovative
system is an integral part of the library's project.
Judging for 2001-2002 awards will be conducted
by Innovative Interfaces, along with Karen Perone
of Rodman Public Library and Fred Gertler of
Orradre Library at Santa Clara University. Winners
will be honored at the IUG Annual Meeting in Houston
with an award plaque and also a prize provided by
Innovative Interfaces.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any
questions. In the meantime, keep the entries
coming in!
Regards,
Barbara Cassidy
