Re: Recon and barcode vendors

Hello Janice,

Maplewood Memorial Library here in New Jersey is just going live this month with
our brand-new Innovative system. We had not previously been automated. In
converting our collection, we first inventoried and applied dumb barcodes obtained
from ICS of America of Prospect Heights, Il, applying barcodes both to each book
and the corresponding shelflist card. We then shipped the shelflist to Brodart
Automation in Williamsport, PA, which did the retrospective conversion. Since our
system is still new, we have not had extensive time to evaluate the quality of the
conversion, but for the most part we have been quite satisfied that Brodart was
economical, relatively accurate and very responsive to our needs. Please feel free
to e-mail me or call me for further details.

Good luck!
