I learned this a long time ago in my BASIC programming classes when none of my
programs would run.  Sometimes the data has been entered a (space, bit, field) to
the left or right of where it is supposed to be so the program cannot read them.
This would come from typos, multiples.  Or LC extra delimiters |a in the 050,
etc.  These would show "invalid" too.
