This is a reposting of a job announcement sent out last November. This
position is still open.
The UCSF Library and Center for Knowledge Management seeks a Library
Assistant IV to serve as Database/Systems Manager in the Resources
Management unit.
This position operates within a complex unit responsible for multiple
library activities including acquisitions, cataloging, database
maintenance, and library application systems administration. This position
has primary responsibility for database maintenance of the Library's online
catalog and administration of its INNOPAC software in conjunction with OCLC
and Melvyl Online Catalog.
Requires substantial experience with an integrated and automated library
system, preferably INNOPAC maintenance and administration; experience with
the exchange of data between systems and sites via FTP and web interfaces;
ability to communicate well and work in a team environment; ability to
perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, shelving, and other
exertion to handle library materials weighing up to 20 pounds, and to move
loaded booktrucks.
Prefer several years experience with OCLC software; several years
experience with INNOPAC maintenance and administration including setting up
and formatting network and local printers; experience with the Technical
Services aspects of electronic data.
Compensation: Base salary is $31,776-$38,184 per year, full time
rate. Starting salary usually in the lower end to the middle of the range
depending on experience and qualifications. Career position with an
