Mil-cir printing

We're using Win98, Mil-Circ, and an H4050N printer.  Prior to January 3
(our first day of the new year) we were printing patron checkout records
with no problems using the HP4050N printer driver.  However, starting
yesterday the first page of multi-page reports was fed but but not
printed; subsequent pages were normal.  I replaced the printer driver
(HP4050 PCL) with the Win98 HP Laserjet III and printing returned to
normal.

We haven't lost any functionality, but this is an oddity.  Has anyone
else run into this problem?
