Reconciling shadow files to the Release 2000 manual

I successfully reconciled our shadow files when we moved to Release 12,
but I have been having difficulty reconciling the shadow files with the
Release 2000 manual. Has anyone successfully transferred their shadow
file from the Release 12 IIIManual to the Release 2000 manual?  
According to the Release 2000 manual:
 "Opening Shadow Files — Folio Views 4.x will check the LNAME.INI file,
located in the \Windows directory, for the location of the appropriate
Folio Views 3.1 master infobase when you attempt to open a 3.x shadow
file in 4.x. If the LNAME.INI file cannot be found, or if the master
infobase is not listed in the LNAME.INI, then the shadow file cannot be
opened in Folio Views 4.x. (You may add the entries to the LNAME.INI
file by opening the shadow file once in Folio Views 3.x or by manually
editing the INI file.)"

I found the LNAME.INI file in the windows directory.  I tried reopening
my shadow file in Folio Views 3.x and I tried manually editing the
LNAME.INI file.  However, I continually get the error message "File not
found."
